Lee Levin was born into extreme poverty
in Siberia
toward the end of the post-World War II era. Because he grew up with a
shmutz-covered stuffed turkey (kosher, of course) as his only toy, the
young Lee coped with his dire situation by making drum-like sounds with
his mouth. Riveting. After being recruited by the Beatles, a rag-tag
bunch of English teens that never even became famous, as what some may
call a ‘beatboxer,’ the words “Lee Levin”
became as commonly spoken in American households as “white
